We employ passionate, enthusiastic staff who are committed to providing outstanding care to our children. Our staff love working with children and this is testament to the excellent relationships we have with our families.
Retention for us is crucial. As parents ourselves this is one of the first questions we asked when we chose a nursery for our own children. We recognise that parents want and need the reassurance to form their nursery and preschool that staff are here to stay and with this in mind retaining our excellent staff is our priority.
At The Little School House we work in a culture of trust and respect. We reward and incentivise our staff so they feel valued and listened too. Our highly experienced nursery and pre-school manager
Jacqueline Shevlinfacilitates these relationships, ensuring we have a dedicated, consistent and happy team who are committed to providing outstanding care to our children. On the team we have four qualified teachers, each with over thirty years teaching experience who work alongside our early years practitioners, who are all trained to NVQ level 3 and 4.
We have very high standards and expectations of our team and we acknowledge their continuous professional development in a variety of ways. Having taught for many years and held senior management positions in Liverpool schools both Joanne and Amanda recognise the benefit of training for all staff. They lead, develop and inspire staff through their own in house training and supervision programmes which are based on their own experience and continuous professional development gained throughout their teaching careers. This is complemented with a variety of other training opportunities for the whole team.
All of our staff receive an enhanced DBS check and are trained in safeguarding and food hygiene. We recognise the importance of staff training in paediatric first aid and as such has made a huge commitment to ensuring that 100% of our staff team are trained in paediatric first aid.
The Little School House are very proud to be part of the apprenticeship training scheme with Northwest Community College. A career in childcare is a vocation. Our young adults must watch, learn and grow into excellent practitioners.
We recognise that our own learning journey is ongoing. That like our children we are learning every day. We embrace this. It’s what makes us The Little School House.
It’s what makes us Outstanding.
